Dr. P. K. Choudhury graduated with B. Pharmacy (1982), M. Pharmacy (1984)
with specialization in Pharmaceutics and Doctorate (1991) from Department
of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
He had a brief stint in a Pharmaceutical Industry after his Masters.
A recipient of B.H.U. Gold Medal for securing first position in M. Pharmacy
examination, he was conferred Dr. H. N. Mitra award by the Indian Pharmaceutical
Association, West Bengal branch in 1985. A Post Doctoral fellow from The School
of Pharmacy, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, he had the privilege
to pursue his research under the guidance of Prof Ian G. Tucker and Dr Majid Razzak.
Dr. Choudhury is actively engaged in research and teaching for the last 30 years
and has supervised 12 Doctoral students. He has published over 60 research papers
in reputed International and National Journals, presented at conferences worldwide,
and authored a book on “Microsphere Drug Delivery System for Antidiabetic Agents.”
He has chaired scientific sessions at Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, A.P.T.I.
conventions, and delivered invited lectures on various pharmaceutical sciences topics.
He has worked abroad in New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia, representing WHO in
South Pacific countries to evaluate pharmaceutical education and healthcare
systems. Dr. Choudhury has served as Pharmacy Coordinator at Fiji School of
Medicine, Chairman of Pharmacy & Poison Board (Fiji), and contributed to
guidelines for essential medicines distribution.
Nationally, he has been an expert for NBA, NAAC, and served on multiple Central
and State Government committees. He is a life member of A.P.T.I. and CRS (USA),
editorial board member of scientific journals, and has held leadership positions
at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Currently, he is the Dean, Faculty of
Pharmacy, PAHER University, Udaipur.
